We started
the day out early in the morning by getting breakfast and rushing to get
everything ready for the start of the day. 4 guys ended up not making it in
time because of the eventful night before. We started by walking towards the
bus, which was parked a 20-minute walk away from the hotel where we stay in
Lencois. From there we had a 2-hour bus trip to our first location which was
called Fazeanda Pratinha. For us, it was the first beautiful natural location
of this trip. At this place, we had the possibility to do different activities.
The activities were kayaking, snorkeling and stand-up peddling. There was also
a zipline available to use. A lot of people did the snorkeling, we as well.
During that activity we went into a big cave with underwater flashlights so we
could explore the place. It took 30 minutes from the start till the end and it
was really special to see something like that. In the cave it is really, really
dark, so without the flashlights we would have seen nothing. After we came back
from the snorkeling. We went to the lake to go swimming and talking a bit. We
did not have a lot of time left, so we left after 30 minutes to go to the
restaurant were we would have lunch.
After a bus ride of 1.5 hour we arrived at the restaurant which was located
next to our next activity: exploring a cave by foot. We all really enjoyed the
lunch, where there even was cactus to eat! This was farmed on the restaurants’
own land. We ended up being divided into 3 groups: a red one, a yellow one and a blue one. The
reason for that was so we could experience the cave to the fullest. We all got
a flashlight and got sent on our ways, every group had two guides to show them
through the cave. Inside we got an explanation about how the cave was found and
what animals was thriving in these environments, we also got shown different
kinds of natural shaped figures.
Then, after
a sleepy ride home in the bus, everyone was exhausted and ended up all being in
the pool to cool down, we ate dinner and then prepared for the “surprise” which
was a Capoeira group. Capoeira is a dance that combines fighting with dancing.
It turns out into a really special combination of movements. They were very talented,
and they also involved us in their dance. It was special to see a dance that is
so different of what we are used to in our own countries. That is also the
reason everyone was enjoying so much.
